around here are perfectionists when it comes to their cars and will purchase that perfection. But on the same note, not all people can drop hundreds on authentic Jspec's either. I was in your boat once and had fakes until I got a set of Jspecs. You get a B+ on effort. And don't worry about all the nit picking. It is just the way things are around here. I remember when I was designing a new sub box and asked for opinions on it halfway through the build. They were not good at all. I took the opinions as constructive critisism, remodeled it and ended up pulling something nice out of it. I was disappointed at first but it was a experience for growth because I took it well and moved on.
